Genetic Mutations - General Science & General Esoterism - Non-Elaborate Posts - Post 6

The development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria is a major public health concern, and genetic mutations play a central role in this phenomenon. Bacteria can acquire resistance through mutations that alter the target of the antibiotic, reduce the uptake of the antibiotic, increase the efflux of the antibiotic, or inactivate the antibiotic.

Similar to bacteria, fungi can also develop resistance to antifungal drugs through genetic mutations. These mutations can affect the drug target, alter drug transport, or activate alternative metabolic pathways.
